I have been coming to Integrative Sports and Wellness and love it. I have seen everyone from spine surgeons, physical therapists, and other muscle specialists and none of them have really been able to help me or lead me in the right direction. In just the few first weeks i went here my activity level completely changed and I can now play golf again pain free the way that i have always wanted to. I can play 18 holes now when i could only play 12-13 holes before my back completely gave out. I love the Kinesio Tape that Dr. Russ puts on my back. In fact that first week I was able to play 36 holes in 2 days and my back was barely even sore after my round. Treatments are definitely helping me! I look forward to the rest of my treatment plan. Thanks for giving my life back.

History
of the Graston Technique:
The Graston
Technique was
researched at Ball Memorial Hospital
and Ball State University
in Muncie, Indiana in the early 1990's. It was
developed by a competitive water skier with a professional backround in
tool making. He and another athlete, both of whom suffered
debilitating injuries that failed to respond to conventional therapies,
combined their athletic knowledge and technical talents to forge
innovative tools that would improve their condition.
The tools - now
patented as
the Graston Instruments - worked so effectively that an organization
was created to design and license the instruments for use by
chiropractors, therapists and sports trainers. Each instrument is shaped
and contoured to work on a specifit body part. There is an instument
that is small enough to be used on the achilles tendon, fingers, and
carpla tunnel. There are also instruments designed to treat larger body
regions such as the neck, upper shoulder and back, hamstrings,
quadriceps, and iliotibial band.

Testimonials
"Graston
Technique® has changed my practice. I work as the team
chiropractor for Northwestern University and DePaul University.
GT has allowed me to expand far beyond what I have been treating with
any athlete. The trainers and other team physicians now refer to me for
soft tissue injuries because of the positive results I
have achieved with Graston Technique®."
— Thomas Solecki Jr., DC, PT, CSCS

"It (GT) has
changed the way I practice, increased the success rate of my treatments
and helped me treat conditions that previously wouldn't
respond well. Anyone that treats musculoskeletal conditions or does
sports medicine needs GT in their tool belt. I could spend an hour
talking about how GT has helped my practice and my patients, the
least I could do is write about it."
— Todd Narson, DC, CCSP
Miami Beach, FL
"It's an
amazing adjunct, makes soft tissue much more effective, much easier on
the clinician’s hands. I've helped several patients with
chronic thoracic pain, plantar fasciitis, and shoulder tendonosis.
Graston Technique® allows us to restart the tissue repair
process consistently and effectively. I heartily recommend this
class, and this work. Once you are trained you'll say, 'How did I get
along without this technique.'"
— Marc Heller, DC
Ashland, OR
"I use
Graston Technique® to help restore the function and control that many of
my patients lose when a simple injury becomes a chronic
condition. It's drug-free, non-invasive and produces an almost immediate
response. Most importantly, it equalizes the frustration felt by many
of my patients who have already failed to respond to
conventional treatment."
—Paul J. Kern, MD
Indianapolis, IN
"After trying
the Graston Technique® for the first time, I not only achieved instant
results which showed in my flexibility and in my
training, I am able to take my athletic career to the highest level
competing with the best in the world. I am able to train more in depth
at a higher intensity .... producing better and
faster times in the athletic world.

"With the World Championship this year and the Olympics right around the
corner, I cannot afford to settle for mediocrity and with this
technique I know that I can, and will, be a force to reckon
with"
